Dr. Kelley McVarish is one of Windsor Chiropractic Health Centre's chiropractors and co-owners. Dr. McVarish received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Originally from Cape Breton, she graduated from Cape Breton University with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Biology. Dr. McVarish is a professional member of the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors and Canadian Chiropractic Association.
In efforts to excel in providing effective treatment and optimize patient care, Dr. McVarish enjoys utilizing her vast array of certifications to tailor her appointments to each patient's needs. She is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Webster Technique and has received certification in acupuncture therapy from the Clinical Acupuncture Certificate program at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Taking a functional approach to treatment means the Dr. McVarish looks at the patient in a top-down, bottom-up approach. Each patient is assessed from a whole-body point of view as each structure impacts the movement of another. The goal is not only to resolve her patient's current issue but give them insights on how they move and how they can prevent re-aggravation and feel confident that tools available to help themselves in pain and in the future.
Treatments vary based on patient needs and may include soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, gait analysis, shockwave therapy, exercises, spinal mobilizations, adjustments, kinesiology taping, education and goal setting to get you back to being you.
Originally from Cape Breton, Dr. McVarish loves running, golfing and spending time with her family.
